Happy fall everyone!! I love fall so much but not when it's still 80 degrees outside! I'm hoping to see a little dip in the temps in the next week or so! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well to get into the spirit of fall I've been making some fun crafts :) and these are so simp!!! I went to Dollar Tree today and found carvable pumpkins for $1 and I snatched up a few! All I did was take the stems off by simply popping them off with my finger. Then I took my scissors and made a hole about 1/2" in diameter. I then went to my massive sweater collection and found these fun sweaters that had already been designated for a future craft purpose :) For the striped one I just used a half of a sleeve and the orange one I cut a square out of the back of it and plopped the pumpkin inside of it and wrapped it up and stuffed the left overs into the hole! I grabbed a short little stick about 3/4" in diameter and stick in inside the hole! That's it!! Go through your sweaters and find some fun ones and get busy making these adorable pumpkins! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello to the world once again! It's only been A YEAR since I blogged last!!!! To say a lot has happened in the past year would be an understatement!!! Hopefully I will get back into blogging again! I've missed it! Well I've been decorating my little guys bedroom and wanted to share a simple project with you :) I've been wanting to do something with maps because I'm a little obsessed with them! I happened to be at Family Dollar the other day and noticed they had a bunch of back to school items in the front of their store...well I happened to see a super brightly colored large map folded nicely into a package and saw the $1 price tag and snatched it up! I brought it home and decided instead of framing the entire map that I would make a pennant banner. So I made a triangle out of poster board and then went to town tracing and cutting. I strung it with hemp and this is how it turned out and I really love it! So run and find yourself a $1 map and do something fun with it!! </div>

First my craft room and now my pantry! With 5 kids it gets OUT OF CONTROL in what seems like minutes!! Today I rearranged everything and cleaned it up a bit and I know within a couple days it will look like it was never touched! This is the place that my boys come to the minute they walk through the door. I wish I had a video because it is seriously funny! I hear little crinkles and I know right where they are :) I took some pictures so that hopefully it will motivate you to do some organization too! I love to organize! It makes me feel like my brain can actually function! When it is in disarray my mind is too! Are you the same way? Anyways I forgot to take before pics, it wasn't horrible but just unorganized.... Well here ya go! Hopefully it will inspire you :)<br />

Crazy how the time slips right on by!! Anyways much has happened in the last 11 mos! Daughter going to college and now serving a <a href="http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/topic/missionary-program"><span style="color: #990000;">mission for our church</span></a>! My oldest son is now a senior in HS and my other boys that are growing and growing and growing! My baby will be turning 4 next month! What???!!!! We have had many crazy injuries, crazy weird medical issues that are now resolved and we are all healthy again! WOO HOO!! But I have also been trying to organize like a mad woman and first and foremost has been my craft room mainly because it is the first room you see when you enter our home! So clearly that has to be the cutest room and the nicest to look at right?? Well I think I have finally gotten it right after probably 10 different ways! My husband thinks I am a <em>crassee lady ( </em>in Nacho Libre voice<em>) </em>LOL! But really he does think I am crazy! I change things in my house as much as our weather changes! And guess who has to do the major moving of large items.......OH YA HE DOES!! And ask me how happy he is when it's time to move those big heavy things..... it's kind of horrible actually. He gets very grumpy, hehe but thank goodness he still loves me! :)<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyways so moving on to my craft room reveal!! Let me start by telling you that I have searched for the perfect craft table FOREVER and either I can't afford the ones that I REALLY love or others are just not me or made for my room. So being me I decided to figure out how to make one myself without using serious tools, only a screwdriver, gotta love that!!!!!! Ok so I went to the good ol' Home Depot and looked around at different things and came up with my GENIUS idea, well it's genius to me, hehe! I found two <a href="http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-36-in-x-36-in-White-Stackable-9-Cube-Organizer-4904/202040802"><span style="color: #990000;">Martha Stewart 9 hole shelves</span></a> that were $44.99 each and found a <a href="http://www.homedepot.com/p/Masonite-Flush-Hardwood-Hollow-Core-Unfinished-Composite-Interior-Door-Slab-with-Bore-24907/100058629"><span style="color: #990000;">hollow core door</span></a> (much cheaper than a solid one) for $34 and painted it bright white... Yep that's it! The door is not even attached, it just lays on the top of the shelves in the event I have another brilliant room change idea! I have actually thought about using Velcro to attach it but haven't done that yet... Can I tell you how much I love the table???? It is high so that I can either stand up to it and wrap presents or lay out patterns and fabric and cut cut cut without killing my back sitting on the floor ( I know you all know that feeling) or I can pull up a stool and sew and craft away AND there's room for three other stools for my crafty friends!........ It is AWESOME!! My shelves to the right of the room are from IKEA of course and they hold EVERYTHING from fabric to scrapbooking supplies. The cute metal turquoise piece with wheels is also from IKEA and it holds most of my ribbon and yarn and other misc stuff. The other turquoise piece of furniture was a hideous brown piece of junk that I got for $10 at a yard sale! So I snagged it and brought it home and slapped some paint on it and now it's adorable! It holds all my craft books and scrapbooks and a few little handmade holders for other little misc items. I snagged the dresser that was in one of my boy's room and it now holds yarn, Cricut stuff and stamps! It works great!! So needless to say I have done things in this room pretty darn cheap! YOU CAN TOO!! You do not need to spend tons of money on a fun room/closet/nook! Look around your house first and see what you can use! I can't tell you the things I have in my house that have been used for other things!! I can't even remember all of them because they have been moved millions of times!! But I love it because it feels like I have new furniture when I move it all around! Ok so here are the pics!!!!!!!! Some were taken in the day and a few at night :)<br />

Here is my wrapping paper holder that I made out of an old frame I had sitting in my garage! I sprayed it white and attached those little circular hooks (I don't remember the name of them) all down both sides after measuring of course. Then I put wooden dowels through the wrapping paper and then through the hooks! Very easy little project!</div>

Super easy DIY wrapping paper holder for your wall! All you need is a fairly large empty frame, some eye hooks and dowels... (Just make sure you get the right size hooks so that the dowels fit through them) All I did was measure how big my wrapping paper rolls were and put the hooks on accordingly. I just made sure that they were measured exactly the same distance between each other so that the rolls would hang straight! I screwed in the hooks and then put my paper on the dowels and hung them through the hooks! That's it!!!! So easy and so cute on my wall!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
During a recent visit to Utah to visit family, I attended a mission farewell party that was a s'more party and it was soooo much fun! They used these little canisters inside to roast the marshmallows! I loved the idea and came home and told my family the idea and so we did it for<a href="https://www.lds.org/topics/family"> <span style="color: #990000;">Family Home Evening</span></a> last week! My boys loved it!! We had a short lesson and then went to town on making some delish s'mores! (Make sure to put something underneath your little canisters in case they get too hot, I just used a cooling rack)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I found these Flame Heat canisters at Dollar Tree but I have seen them in bulk at Sam's Club and Costco for around $12 I think for at least 12...Don't quote me on that for sure but it was a great deal, I know that!</div>

Garlic Pork Roast<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Rcfggqk3lXBR1Ih9P19XMH-_-W_aXE3atDtqjFSWKlTQMNkN0nj59YYc9cC3A2b2np3mBVZOFExTWKNWQGgZwjhBQDlNeBf9-795wqwwAfYZabkqaGUzREAjsbMBQrVK6wvr7lj6WF4/s1600/pork+roast2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Rcfggqk3lXBR1Ih9P19XMH-_-W_aXE3atDtqjFSWKlTQMNkN0nj59YYc9cC3A2b2np3mBVZOFExTWKNWQGgZwjhBQDlNeBf9-795wqwwAfYZabkqaGUzREAjsbMBQrVK6wvr7lj6WF4/s320/pork+roast2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So I felt a little ambitious today (which is a miracle) and decided to make 3 freezer meals! I got out my great book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Fix-Freeze-Feast-Delicious-Money-Saving/dp/1603427260/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378867019&sr=8-1&keywords=fix+freeze+feast"><span style="color: #990000;">FIX, FREEZE, FEAST</span></a> and found a pork roast recipe that looked delish and went to town and let me just say that it was seriously the easiest freezer meal to make...ever! Let me just say that if you buy meat in bulk (Costco, Sam's Club) and you love to make freezer meals then you need this book :) It is full of yummy looking recipes if you buy in bulk! Here is just one amazing recipe from it!<br />
<div align="center">
<u>GARLIC-STUDDED PORK LOIN</u></div>
<div align="center">
1 Pork Loin- about 8 lbs.</div>
<div align="center">
2 Tbl dried Oregano</div>
<div align="center">
1 Tbl Salt</div>
<div align="center">
1 Tbl Black Pepper</div>
<div align="center">
18 Garlic Cloves</div>
<div align="center">
3/4 c. Olive Oil</div>
<div align="center">
3/4 c. Lemon Juice</div>
<div align="center">
3/4 c. Water</div>
<div align="center">
3- 1 Gallon Freezer Bags</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
Mix oregano, salt, pepper in a small bowl and set aside. Rinse and trim loin as desired. Cut loin into 3 equal roasts. Using the tip of a sharp paring knife, cut twelve openings 3/4 inches deep in each roast. Slice each garlic clove in half and place one garlic piece in each opening. Rub each roast with one-third of the seasoning mixture. Place one roast into each freezer bag. Over each roast, measure 1/4 c. olive oil, 1/4 c. lemon juice, and 1/4 c. water.</div>
<div align="center">
SEAL AND FREEZE!! That's it!!</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
Hope you like it!!</div>

Office chairs are ugly... Plain and simple. So I found one years ago that was being thrown away and I snatched it up and figured out how to disassemble it and recovered it! Well that chair became very old and loud so I replaced it with another hideous navy blue chair that I found for 5 bucks at ReStore. I again came home and disassembled it... But the bottom of the chair was hard to take apart so I simply stapled the fabric underneath it (hopefully no one will look under there :) I love how it came out!! I did not take pics along the way... Sorry! But you can easily take apart the top part of the chair. They usually pop apart once you unscrew the back piece. Seriously if I can figure this out, ANYONE can!!<br />

So I had to get creative and come up with a closet! I bought a super cute yellow armoir at a yard sale for $60 and converted it into a little closet! All I did was take out one of the shelves and then added a small closet rod. It works perfectly! Then I have little baskets for his shoes and socks! I found these delicious PUDDING POPSICLES in this fabulous book called <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Day-Gourmets-Book-Freezer-Cooking/dp/0966446771/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369938446&sr=8-1&keywords=30+day+gourmet%27s+big+book+of+freezer+cooking"><span style="color: #990000;">"30 DAY GOURMET BIG BOOK OF FREEZER COOKING"</span></a> They looked yummy and sooooo easy so I thought I would try them out on my kids. I am sure they will devour them as they love chocolate pudding and that's all they are is chocolate pudding frozen into cups!! Here is the recipe I used:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">2 of the large boxes of instant chocolate pudding mixes</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">6 cups milk</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">Here's all the stuff you need... milk, pudding, popsicle sticks, small cups and aluminum foil!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wisk for two minutes and pour into small cups, cover them with foil and insert popsicle sticks into them and freeze!! Simple as that!</div>

Here is my littlest one as WALDO! I saw a picture of an adult Waldo costume and thought, hey I bet I could make that for my almost 2 year old!! So I whipped up a hat with beige fleece and added red ribbing around the edge. For the little poof on the top I cut strips of red felt and sewed them on. He already had a white long sleeve shirt so I just added some red duct tape to it to make stripes. I ran out while making it so I need to get some more and finish around his arms and around the back. His glasses used to be pink so I colored them with black marker and since he is almost two he decided to rip the glasses apart so we had to improvise with some elastic which is actually better because they stay on!!</div>

GOTTA LOVE HOMEMADE CHEAP COSTUMES!</div>

Here is most of my interior Halloween decor! I had fun putting it all together this year! Most of the items are things I have made over the years or things I have picked up at stores for up to 90% off! (Thank you Pier 1) Halloween is so much fun and I think I have rubbed off a little onto my children! They love to come home and see what the house looks like! They also love to come home to the smells of pumpkin breads, zucchini breads and various cookies that seem to get baked year after year! I LOVE IT! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you are having fun decorating too!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hi!! So after a 6 month break I am back! Today 4 of my friends got together and did freezer meals and freezer treats!! We made these ice cream sandwiches! They are simple to make......... Store bought cookies, some ice cream and any topping of your choice! So I say they are homemade because I put them together but they are made with store bought items :) My kids will walk in the door from school and INHALE these! These are perfect for the last little bit of warm weather before the fall....well, actually they are good anytime!! I will post about our freezer meals tomorrow!</div>

Aren't chalkboards the best?? And even better when you make them yourself! Well that is what I did... When we built our house we had left over wood from our kitchen and I held on to a piece, a really LARGE piece forever and didn't know what to do with it! Well I figured it out... A CHALKBOARD! So I whipped out my chalkboard paint and painted it! It has had many different homes in the house... the toy room, the boys room and finally the kitchen! I love it because this is where I can put quotes, grocery lists, to do lists, etc... </div>
<div align="center">
Another project came up yesterday....I am having a baby shower for a friend of mine and I wanted to have a chalkboard on the food table on an easel but I didn't have the right size so I headed to Walmart to see what I could find. Well I found a mirror for $5.98 and transformed it into a chalkboard. I just sprayed the entire thing including the mirror ballet slipper pink then hand painted chalkboard paint onto the mirror! It works perfectly!! So here are the pics of the boards :)</div>

<span id="goog_1119431076">I'm not sure how many of you have seen these adorable pillows but I stumbled upon a very cute<a href="http://kikicreates.blogspot.com/2011/03/us-map-pillow-tutorial.html"><span style="color: #990000;"> one</span></a> the other day and had to make one! The ones I've seen are made with felt but I thought it would be cute to make the cut out of the US out of cotton fabric (which I traced from a US silhouette cut on my cricut) and sew it onto fleece! You can then cut out a felt heart and put it wherever you want to, maybe somewhere you want to go or somewhere you have lived, etc... I just threw this one on for fun to show you... I used my pinking sheers to cut around the pillow as well to add a little cuteness to it :). I love it! What great presents these would make!!!</span></div>The Childrens Nesthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00718972004607632590noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3997134414299272946.post-3419246145967540042012-02-29T13:09:00.000-08:002012-02-29T13:11:31.478-08:00Boy pillows...<div style="text-align: center;">

Having 5 children means I pretty much live in this room! So why not make it pretty?? I would have taken a pic of the whole room but there are piles of laundry I am in the process of doing so you only get to see a small section of the room for now, he he :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjakxRcnrVbIJ9_odMJMexwOdIS2kN6j7Wwn3U6KY7auKfk8hBjnayhhRz81PMDV_ol1vWhtxX91EGNMF6bFtLiwu3X5o1NzXFPU_wNBDiSw24GQvqOo5e0XSx-aBJgYnbYlwYuSCxkdtg/s1600/Laundry.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjakxRcnrVbIJ9_odMJMexwOdIS2kN6j7Wwn3U6KY7auKfk8hBjnayhhRz81PMDV_ol1vWhtxX91EGNMF6bFtLiwu3X5o1NzXFPU_wNBDiSw24GQvqOo5e0XSx-aBJgYnbYlwYuSCxkdtg/s320/Laundry.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the shelf that sits right above the washer...the good ol' fashion top loader.... I found these baskets at a yard sale for a buck a piece (woohoo)! I keep the downey, shout, wrinkle release and dryer sheets in these. Works great and they look cute too! Then I found the large metal green container at Tai Pan (love that place) and the flowers are my FAVORITE EVER...peonies!!! They are left overs from my niece's wedding a few years ago! Aren't they gorgeous? They look real huh!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok and the chalkboard above is one I made out of an old cupboard door! I had it hanging somewhere else in my house FOREVER and was getting tired of it there so I plopped it above the washer and LOVE it! I also love having my laundry soap in my huge clear jar. It just looks better than a big huge ugly box sitting up there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
