DIY Chalkboards........

Aren't chalkboards the best??  And even better when you make them yourself!  Well that is what I did...  When we built our house we had left over wood from our kitchen and I held on to a piece, a really LARGE piece forever and didn't know what to do with it!  Well I figured it out...  A CHALKBOARD!  So I whipped out my chalkboard paint and painted it!  It has had many different homes in the house... the toy room, the boys room and finally the kitchen!  I love it because this is where I can put quotes, grocery lists, to do lists, etc...

Another project came up yesterday....I am having a baby shower for a friend of mine and I wanted to have a chalkboard on the food table on an easel but I didn't have the right size so I headed to Walmart to see what I could find.  Well I found a mirror for $5.98 and transformed it into a chalkboard.  I just sprayed the entire thing including the mirror ballet slipper pink then hand painted chalkboard paint onto the mirror!  It works perfectly!!  So here are the pics of the boards :)

United States Map Pillow

I'm not sure how many of you have seen these adorable pillows but I stumbled upon a very cute one the other day and had to make one!  The ones I've seen are made with felt but I thought it would be cute to make the cut out of the US out of cotton fabric (which I traced from a US silhouette cut on my cricut)  and sew it onto fleece!  You can then cut out a felt heart and put it wherever you want to, maybe somewhere you want to go or somewhere you have lived, etc... I just threw this one on for fun to show you...  I used my pinking sheers to cut around the pillow as well to add a little cuteness to it :).  I love it!  What great presents these would make!!!
