Some fun things I made...........

So I thought I would be a good mom and have treats waiting for the kids when they got home from school today! THEY LOVED THEM AND ME TOO :) These are the easiest and yummiest cupcakes ever to make! I just posted about these a couple of days ago for ideas for Valentines!

This is a banner I decided to make for Valentines! It turned out really cute! I have seen many banners over the past 4 months and I just love them!!! I found the letters I used on Martha Stewart and I designed the rest. I have it hanging in our entry so everyone sees it right when they walk through the door.... hopefully it will inspire us and our visitors to have more love in our hearts!

I used my BIG SHOT and cut out these flowers with a scrap of thick cardboard. Then I used Martha Stewart's tiny glitter to make it shine!!

Try this yummy Cinnamon Cider:

Cinnamon Candy Cider
Here's a potion kids are sure to love. Among the ingredients are cinnamon candies that give it zing. Stir 1 quart apple cider and 1/4 cup hard cinnamon candies in a medium saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until heated through and candies have melted completely, about 8 minutes. Serve warm.

Look at this sweet little Felt Heart Hat:
Get your baby ready to fight the winter chill: a festive pilot's cap embellished with felt hearts helps keep tiny ears toasty. Cut two large hearts from felt. Then use a needle and thread to stitch them to the cap at three points. If you want the decoration to be permanent, affix hearts with fabric glue before sewing.

Button Covers
The secret to capturing a heart is to use a button -- at least when the heart in question is made of felt. Create this no-sew decoration for Valentine's Day: Cut hearts from pink and red felt based on the size of the shirt's buttons (ours are cut from 1-inch squares). Fold each in half horizontally, and cut a vertical slit, or buttonhole, about the same size as the button. To wear, button up shirt, and then slip hearts over buttons.
Do you do anything fun for this holiday??? Let me know..... :o)

Fabulous snow table!

Do you love, love, love???

Snow Date
Invite young friends to gather around a table made of snow. Tightly pack snow (wet snow works better than the powdery kind) into two large galvanized tubs, and leave it overnight to harden. Overturn one tub, unmold the snow, and then overturn the second tub on top. (To ease the way, set the frozen tubs inside a garage or a shed for a half hour to warm the snow.) For a seat, use the same trick and a 5-gallon bucket.

Here is where my creative magic begins....he he he

I just thought I would share with all my blogging friends where all of my so called "creative magic" begins..... It is a ginormous, Martha Stewart, Pottery Barn sized laundry/craft room (ha ha NOT) But here it is in all it's 6' x 12' glory!!! It may be small but it is packed with magical goodness!! This is where my kid creations start, in this very microscopic room! See photos below:

This is it... the room, see not so big huh?

First let me start by telling you all that you can do anything if you have a will there is always a way. For instance, let's take this desk for example. A friend dropped this off to us one day and said it was an old government desk that he was going to be getting rid of. I immediately took it and began the "Tiffany Magic" on it. I painted it white and then covered the top with polka dotted fabric ($1/ yard- Walmart) and then covered it with clear vinyl that I stapled onto the underneath side of it. LOVE how it turned out and you can simply wipe off anything that gets on it! I installed many shelves from Home Depot to all of the walls in the room to store all of my "stuff".
Here I have a great yard sale find... a metal tool holder that I use as a scissor holder. It works perfectly! My ribbon is on the wall hung by wooden curtain holders ( I dont know what else to call them) and wooden dowels. This also works great!

Here is an office chair I redid using a tablecloth for the fabric cover. I again used the staple gun to staple the fabric underneath it!

Love these silver tins from IKEA! They hold a ton of stuff!

This is a silver lunch pail I found at the thrift store that I store all of my gift tags in. Works great!

Clear jars from Walmart are the best!! I use many of them for ribbon pieces!

Yes... another yard sale treasure. A silver chest of drawers that I fill with cello bags, extra paper, coloring pencils, etc...

A cute laundry bag I found at TJ Maxx that holds laundry??? No, it holds wrapping paper!!! I hung it on my wall for easy access!
My kids love this little room, in fact my 7 year old son calls it is office :o) You can create a room like this anywhere in your house even a closet!!! Hopefully this has inspired you to make yourself a little nook to create in!!!
